News on Mens Division Structure for 2009/2010

January 23rd, 2009 · No Comments

Please see the following news from the League Secretary:

MBBO Open Divs:

Further to my pre-Xmas email regarding league division changes for next season.

The green line separating where the division will spilt may be too complex for our webmaster to execute – so it may or may not appear. The formulae for division reorganisation, club mergers/withdrawals and the possible relegations from the national league, it appears, make this too dynamic to simply code.

However, I will emphasise how CURRENTLY the division will divide as follows.

Next season SHL MBBO structure:

MBBO Regional D1 à MBBO Regional D2 à MBBO D1 à MBBO D2à MBBO D3à MBBO D4à MBBO D5

Relegation this season. There will be no relegations as such; a line will be drawn within each division to split it to form 12-team divisions down the whole structure. If the line is drawn below position 2 in the current Open Div. 2, then teams at positions 3 to 12 will be part of the 2009/10 MBBO Division 4. These positions remain at the same level, relative to the bottom of the SHL structure.

Promotion this season. There will be promotion for (currently) two teams from the current MBBO Open Div 2. Your division champions and runner-up will be promoted to the 2009/10 MBBO Division 3. Promotion will remain at two teams to the division above at the end of the 2009/10 season.

Summarising:

Positions 1 and 2 à MBBO Division 3, next season

Positions 3 to 12 à MBBO Division 4, next season

MBBO 1st XI Divs:

Next season SHL MBBO structure:

Relegation this season. There will be no relegations as such; a line will be drawn within each division to split it to form 12-team divisions down the whole structure. If the line is drawn below position 12 in the current 1st XI Div. 1, then teams at positions 6 to 12 will be part of the 2009/10 MBBO Division 1; whereas those in positions 13 to 16 will be part of the 2009/10 MBBO Division 2.

Promotion this season. There will be promotion for (currently) four/five teams from the current MBBO 1st XI Div 1. The top-two teams in this division will be promoted into the MBBO Regional Div. 1; teams placed 3 to 4 (or 5) will be promoted into MBBO Regional Div. 2. This is a very good season to win a top-two place. Promotion will revert to two teams to the division above at the end of the 2009/10 season.

Summarising:

Positions 1 to 2 à MBBO Regional Division 1, next season

Positions 3 to 5 àMBBO Regional Division 2, next season

(Position 5 may follow position 6 to MBBO Division 1, clarity will be given at next update.)

Positions 6 to 12 à MBBO Division 1, next season

Positions 12 to 16 àMBBO Division 2, next season

Next update after match 16.

Kind regards
